The "Papyrologisch-Epigraphische Werkstatt" (Workshop for Papyrology and Epigraphy) was launched in 2006 and has established itself as a scholarly discussion forum. It takes place monthly during the lecture period at the Institut für Alte Geschichte, Altertumskunde, Papyrologie und Epigraphik of the University of Vienna on a Monday at 5 pm and is organised jointly with the ÖAI.

Our aim is to offer a cross-disciplinary, open exchange of views for work on documentary sources. Under this premise, the event is not a series of lectures but a workshop in the true sense of the word, in which the presentation of unfinished work (work in progress) is expressly encouraged.

All colleagues – especially diploma and doctoral students – are cordially invited to present their research problems for discussion. Two presentations of 15 minutes each are planned for each session to allow sufficient time for discussion.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU!
